Challenge
Artificial ground freezing involves significant uncertainties, including groundwater seepage, freeze pipe misalignment, and variability in soil conductivity, all of which increase construction risks.
The complex behavior of frozen soils requires more advanced constitutive models.
Contribution
Developed a coupled thermo-hydraulic model to address freezing-related uncertainties and proposed a unified constitutive model for frozen soils.
This model is integrated into the thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) framework for AGF.
